You know that WWII thing happened and flattened Hannover and after the war there was no money or time to rebuild the buildings in their original state. The people had other, more pressing problems. So, in the 50’s and 60’s a lot of horrible concrete was built. It was easy, fast and cheap.
Of course it’s a horrible shame since Hannover was a real beauty before the war.
